Wastewater Wetlands

Constructed wetlands can be a cost effective way to clean up the unfortunate by-products of mining, concentrated animal operations, petroleum production, aquaculture, and even humans.

In many cases, characteristics of the influent will limit the plant species that can be used.   If you are considering using plants to treat wastewater, we will be glad to help you with plant selection.

 Sagittaria lancifolia

Many plants are stunted when grown in wetlands contaminated by petroleum, but Sagittaria lancifolia (Bulltongue) actually grows faster in such conditions!
